Inflation in September 2011 minus 2.29% - vegetables make another leap

Season vegetables and fruits continue. Cabbage, potatoes and tomatoes have made a breakthrough of its price. Prices of vegetables have reached their minimum -vegetable basket worth 57.91 UAH, and for example, in April 2011, it was worth 284.23 UAH (prices of vegetables for 5 months decreased by 5 times). Thanks to the continuing drop in prices for vegetables, inflation in September, once again has a negative value - deflation amounted to 2.29%.

September continues to enjoy the fall in prices not only for fruits and vegetables, but also in grains - buckwheat porridge with cheaper. Sugar fell considerably: in August, worth kilogram 9.59, then 7.99 UAH in September per kilo. 

Meat and meat products traditionally not pass position, and only increase in value. When in September 2010 the meat basket was worth 266.07, in September 2011 value amounted to UAH 328.69. per basket. Meat inflation for the year is 23.4%

Individual inflation in September 2011 was minus 2.29%. For ten months of 2011grocery inflation was -3.15% (deflation). Due to lower prices for vegetables, deflation for first 9 months of 2011 further increased. We cherish the hope that prices of vegetables will rise gradually rather than all at once at times.

Inflation in August 2011 1.27% - vegetables season is finished

Season of vegetables and fruits is finished. Now we can observe gradual rise in prices of basic components of Ukrainian “borsch”. Three months of falling prices - May, June, July - came to an end. On average, prices have risen significantly - the inflation in August amounted to 1.27%.

In summer months, a trend rise in prices for meat and dairy products, but a significant decrease in the prices of vegetables - the total consumer basket dropped in price. When cabbage and tomatoes begin to rise in price, we will reach a new level of high prices comparing to 2010 - now meat and dairy products is more expensive than last year. Accordingly, the Ukrainians will meet in October 2011 with a serious test of family budgets.
